For Schools

To enrol your school on IREN, contact us via email or use the Get Started button on our Services & Products page. A Porto Limited representative will set up your Headteacher account, assign your school a unique identifier, and activate your subscription. Teachers and students are then managed directly by the Headteacher.

Parents can self-register at any time. Visit the Parent Sign Up page, enter your name, email, and phone number, choose a password, and you're in. Once registered, subscribe to a family plan and start tracking your child's learning progress directly from your dashboard.

Quick answers to the most common questions about IREN

What is IREN and who is it designed for?
IREN (Inclusive Resource for Education and Navigation) is an assistive technology platform by Porto Limited. It is designed for students with special needs — particularly those who are visually or hearing impaired — as well as their schools and families, to enable equal access to quality education through purpose-built devices and a connected management platform.
How does a school get onboarded onto IREN?
Schools are onboarded by Porto Limited. After you express interest through our Services & Products page, our team contacts you to set up your Headteacher account, assign your school a unique identifier, and activate your subscription. Teachers and students are then managed by the Headteacher directly from the dashboard.
Can parents register without a school account?
Yes. Parents register independently through the Parent portal at /parents/signup/ and can subscribe to family plans to access learning materials and track their child's progress. A school account is not required for parent registration.
I forgot my password — how do I reset it?
Use the Forgot Password link on your login page. Enter your registered email address, and we'll send a one-time password (OTP) to your email and phone number. Enter the OTP to verify your identity and set a new password.
How do I order an IREN assistive device?
Visit our Order page to place a device request. Our team will confirm availability, pricing, and delivery details. IREN devices are currently available in Tanzania with plans for regional expansion across East Africa.
What payment methods does IREN accept?
We accept Mobile Money, Card, and QR payments for subscriptions and device orders. For schools and institutions requiring invoice-based payments, please contact us at iren@porto.africa.
Is my data and my child's data secure on IREN?
Yes. We use encrypted passwords, HTTPS connections, OTP-based authentication, and role-based access controls to protect all data. Student data is only accessible to the authorized Headteacher and Teachers of the assigned school, and is never used for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How are IREN devices linked to teachers and students?
IREN devices are registered to a school and linked to a specific teacher account. Teachers upload and manage educational content through the Teacher Content Portal, which is then delivered directly to the IREN devices used by students in their class. The Headteacher manages teacher assignments through the school dashboard.
How do I cancel my subscription?
To cancel your subscription before the next renewal date, contact us at iren@porto.africa or call +255 714 655 473. Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. We understand circumstances change and we're here to help make the process as smooth as possible.
How can I share my story or attend a community event?
We love hearing from our community! Visit our Stories & Events page to read inspiring journeys and see upcoming activities. To share your own story, simply email us at iren@porto.africa with your experience. To attend an event, click on any event card to view details and RSVP. Everyone is welcome!
Is IREN suitable for students with different learning needs?
Absolutely. IREN is built on the foundation of inclusive education. Our assistive devices and platform are designed to support students with visual impairments, hearing impairments, and other learning differences. We continuously work with educators, specialists, and families to ensure every learner can access quality education in a way that works for them.
